Method
- Preheat the oven to 200 °C (top and bottom heat). Cut the baguette diagonally into slices 1.5–2 cm thick.
- Brush both sides of the slices with 2 tablespoons of olive oil, place them on a baking sheet, and bake for about 6 minutes (turning them after 3 minutes) until they are golden brown.
- Rub the hot bread immediately with a peeled clove of garlic.
- Dice the tomatoes, cut the basil into strips, and finely chop the second clove of garlic.
- Mix everything together in a bowl with the remaining 2 tablespoons of olive oil, balsamic vinegar, salt, and pepper, and let it sit for a few minutes.
- Spread 1–2 tablespoons of the tomato mixture on each slice of baguette, garnish with basil and balsamic cream, and serve immediately.
