Recipe with kohlrabi – my experience

For most people I know, kohlrabi is not a common ingredient. For me, this delicious vegetable is indispensable. This is because kohlrabi plays a very important role in Pakistani and Indian cuisine. There are so many great and very popular dishes. For example, gonglu gosht, meat with kohlrabi – super tasty! As I grew up with kohlrabi dishes from a young age, you can already tell that I love kohlrabi! Today I’m going to show you my kohlrabi vegetable recipe that I like to make when I’m in a hurry. It’s vegan, healthy and delicious!

Preparing the kohlrabi

I used a medium-sized kohlrabi for this recipe. This was peeled beforehand and then cut into bite-sized pieces. At this point, I have to say that I really held back. I would prefer to eat the raw kohlrabi raw. If you’ve never tried raw kohlrabi before, then you really must give it a try!

Cooking kohlrabi

Cooked kohlrabi tastes best when it is soft enough. To do this, simmer the kohlrabi on a medium heat with the lid closed until it has the desired soft consistency. The exact time depends on the type of kohlrabi and the size of the kohlrabi pieces. One time I had kohlrabi that was done after 10 minutes and then I had kohlrabi that took up to 30 minutes.

What can you eat with kohlrabi curry?

Basmati rice, fresh flatbread or naan is usually served with kohlrabi curry! But roti or chapati would also go really well here. You can find my chapati recipe here.
